Food is divided into three parts in Ayurveda.The simple food is called satvik food. It is considered pure and good for the body. For example:

Fresh fruits, green leafy vegetables, almonds, etc., grains, and fresh milk.
Satvik food is that which purifies the body and gives peace to the mind.
Second is Rajasic food
These diets motivate the body and brain to function. Their excessive intake brings hyperactivity, restlessness, anger, irritability, insomnia etc. to the body.
Such food includes salty and spicy foods. Apart from these, bitter and dry things are also included in it. Such food stimulates the human mind and gives a lot of energy to the human being.
Third is Tamsic food
Non-vegetarian diet, stale food, excessive fat intake, oily and highly sweet food.
Tamasic foods are those that make the body and mind sluggish. Excessive intake of these causes inertia, confusion and disorientation.
